Lennox backs better HIV care access

(Tuesday August 05, 2008 08:58 AM)
Scots singer Annie Lennox has called for better access to HIV/AIDS treatment for people in developing countries.
She said it was "tragic" that the virus is passed on to the next generation because many women do not have access to health care.
It should be a fundamental right for women to have access to treatment, she said.
The former Eurythmics singer, an Oxfam ambassador, was speaking from the International AIDS Conference in Mexico.
