Music fans have voted the latest album by Keane as the best release of the year, according to a new poll.
Their Perfect Symmetry album was the runaway winner in a competition run by Q Magazine and Q Radio.
Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds were voted second while Goldfrapp was third.
Oasis came fourth followed by Kings of Leon then the latest albums by Coldplay, Elbow, Sparks, The Last Shadow Puppets and REM.
U2 have issued more details about the release in 2009 of their new album, "No Line On The Horizon".
The band's 12th studio record and the follow-up to 2004's "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb" is due out in March.

A cassette capturing John Lennon drunkenly singing a cover version has been bought for £20,000.
The tape dates from 1973 and finds the former Beatle working his way through Lloyd Price's"Just Because" in a recording studio.
It went under the hammer at Bonhams & Butterfields in Los Angeles, with the auction house describing the content as "debauched".
During the performance, Lennon can be heard indulging in "slurred warbling" and singing "just a little cocaine will set me right".
"The background band speeds up or slows down, trying to keep up with him until a male voice finally calls an end to the session after a little over six minutes", explained Bonhams & Butterfields.
The tape has never been heard in public before and the buyer has not been disclosed.
Britney Spears has reportedly swapped the two choreographers who helped launch her recent comeback appearances for the director of Madonna's recent world tour.
The Circus Starring Britney Spears will now be directed by Jamie King, who directed and choreographed her Oops! I Did It Again series of live dates in 2000 and the Material Girl's Sticky & Sweet Tour.
King replaces Wade Robson, who directed the star in her first major US tour in 1999, and Andre Fuentes, who choreographed for Spears beginning with her 1998 L'Oreal Hair Zone Mall Tour.
A source tells US tabloid Life & Style: "Wade and Andre were only hired to choreograph the promotional tour for Circus, which ended in Japan last week."
King's representatives at The McDonald Selznick Associates Agency have posted the following on their Web site: "Britney’s back and going on tour to promote her new album Circus! Congratulations to Jamie King who will be the tour’s director. Simon Ellis will be the Musical Director for the tour."
Jennifer Hudson has scheduled her first live performance since the tragic killing of her mother, brother and nephew - she will sing at a stage show leading up to the 2009 Grammy Awards.
Hudson has been named among the stars performing Neil Diamond's classic tracks at February's MusiCares Person of the Year gala on 6 February, according to reports by Variety.
Hudson headed back to work in Los Angeles last week to begin shooting a video for her next single, If It Isn't Love.

A US judge has granted Britney Spears' father Jamie an increase in his monthly payments as conservator of the singer's estate.
Jamie Spears was put in charge of his daughter's legal, financial and personal affairs in February following a public breakdown which saw the star hospitalised for a mental evaluation.
Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz ruled in October that Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet would stay on indefinitely as co-conservators.
And on Monday Goetz awarded Spears an additional £34,000 payout for helping his daughter get her personal and professional life back on track.
Guetz told the hearing: "He (Jamie Spears) has been working extra hours related to various activities related to her music and her tour and activities necessary to the conservatorship."
The elder Spears had previously been receiving £6,700 a month for his work, but Goetz increased the amount to approximately £10,700 per month and agreed to give him backpay.
Goetz also granted Spears an additional £809 monthly payment to maintain an office.

Three men have been accused of kidnapping a close friend of singer Lily Allen.
Allen's unnamed male pal and another man were allegedly snatched from a shop in west London in August and kept prisoner for seven days while £75,000 ransoms were demanded from their families.

Britney Spears made another cameo in the midst of her comeback - this time at a Los Angeles courtroom.
Spears appeared unexpectedly for a hearing in her ongoing power of attorney case.
A court spokesman said after the hearing that Spears appeared to give an update on her upcoming album, Circus, and details of her tour and other promotions.
Her father, Jamie Spears, has had control over his 26-year-old daughter's personal and financial affairs since February.
The court made the arrangement permanent last month, but Spears can petition to end the arrangement.
The court spokesman says she did not make that request.
As part of that deal, her father and attorney gained greater control over her professional career.
Jamie Spears appeared in court with his daughter and emerged from a courtroom with her after a two-hour closed session.
Spears has not appeared in court during months of proceedings, but has been represented by a court-appointed lawyer.
Spears' new album is scheduled to be released on December 2, which is also the singer's 27th birthday.

Britney Spears is more than ready to make her pop comeback, because she's getting "stronger" every day, according to her manager Larry Rudolph.

A new work of art portraying Amy Winehouse shot dead has been unveiled in New York City.
The sculpture captures the infamous singer in a pool of blood, having been killed by US writer William S Burroughs.
The artist behind the work, Marco Perego, said he created "The Only Good Rock Star Is A Dead Rock Star" as a "warning" to Winehouse.
Amy's spokesperson gave their reaction to the piece, commenting: "It's a funny kind of tribute.
"The artist seems in thrall to a tabloid persona that is not the real Amy. People often use her image to sell their work."
Valued at £100,000, the sculpture is on display at the Half Gallery on Manhattan's Lower East Side.

Thirty staff at a shop in Scotland were given free tickets to an Oasis show by Noel Gallagher this week, according to reports.

Fielder-Civil was released from Highpoint Prison in Suffolk on Wednesday after being convicted of causing actual bodily harm (ABH) and perverting the course of justice.

Amy Winehouse's representative has dismissed reports the singer is in rehab, insisting her visit to a London medical centre at the weekend was for a chest infection.
The Back to Black hitmaker was taken to The London Clinic on Saturday, the same place she was treated at for her drug problems earlier this year.
The visit sparked rumours Winehouse had admitted herself into the health centre in a bid to kick her drink and drug demons once and for all.
But a spokesman for Winehouse, who was previously diagnosed with traces of deadly lung disease emphysema, has denied the claims - blaming a chest problem for the visit.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the troubled star underwent precautionary scans to ensure the emphysema had not returned and is due to be discharged within days.

Country star Carrie Underwood has laughed off reports of a feud with Jessica Simpson, insisting she has nothing against the singer/actress for dating her ex Tony Romo.
The two stars were alleged to have fallen out after Underwood insinuated she was still in touch with American footballer Romo, two years after their split.
In a recent interview with Allure magazine, Underwood insisted Romo was equally keen to keep in contact, adding: "The phone will ring and it'll be him, and I'll maybe not answer."

Police have arrested a suspect in the double shooting of singer/actress Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother - but the star's seven-year-old nephew who was taken from the scene of the crime is still missing.
Authorities took William Balfour, who was once married to the actress' sister Julia, into police custody on Friday after the victims were found gunned down in their Chicago, Illinois home earlier in the day.
Neighbours allegedly heard gunshots between 8am and 9am local time on the south side of the city, but emergency services weren't contacted until 3pm, when another relative, believed to be Hudson's cousin, discovered the star's 57-year-old mum Darnell Donnerson shot in the head in the living room.
Officers subsequently found the body of Jason Hudson, 29, who had died from bullet wounds to the chest, in an upstairs bedroom.
Police launched a child abduction alert after quizzing Balfour, 27, over the whereabouts of Julia's missing son Julian King, according to FOX News' Chicago affiliate.
Spanish pop star Enrique Iglesias has emerged unscathed after his plane was forced to make an emergency landing.
The singer was flying over the Atlantic from the US on Monday when his plane ran into trouble.
The pilot was forced to shut down one of the jet's engines, and made an emergency landing at Luton Airport.
A spokesman for Iglesias's Polydor record label confirmed that no-one was hurt.
The singer, who has had hits with Hero, Do You Know? and Don't Turn Off The Lights, is on a promotional tour of Europe after the release of his English Greatest Hits album.
His London agent said the engine troubles had happened while the singer was onboard a private plane.
He praised the pilots who brought the pop star to safety.
"The highly skilled pilots managed to make a safe landing and nobody was hurt," he said.
