Slash attacks blogger

(Friday August 29, 2008 06:09 PM)

Slash hopes the internet blogger who reportedly leaked tracks from the new Guns N' Roses album "rots in jail".

The band's former guitarist has been speaking about Kevin Cogill, who is alleged to have posted a number of unreleased songs in the internet earlier this year.

He was released on $10,000 bail this week and could face a spell in prison amid a full FBI investigation.

Speaking about his fate, the Velvet Revolver guitarist insisted: "I hope he rots in jail. It's going to affect the sales of the record, and it's not fair.

"The internet is what it is, and you have to deal with it accordingly, but I think if someone goes and steals something, it's theft."

Meanwhile, Guns have issued a statement commenting on the news, as fans await the forever delayed "Chinese Democracy".

It reads: "Presently, though we don't support this guy's actions at that level, our interest is in the original source. We can't comment publicly at this time as the investigation is ongoing."
