Mel C is pregnant with her first child, it has been announced.
The singer is the final Spice Girl to conceive, after confirming the news that she and partner Thomas Starr are expecting.
The couple described themselves as "very happy" by their impending parenthood although she has not ruled out a return to music.
The star, real name Melanie Chisholm, posted a message on her website: "Well, I can now announce that Tom and I are expecting a baby and we are very happy.
"As I'm sure you'll understand we needed time to wait for results and tell our families. I will be taking it easy but am also excited to start writing for the fifth album.
"I will need to take some time off to be a mum but, before you know it, we'll be back", said Chisholm.
The other members of the Spice Girls - Mel B, Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham and Emma Bunton - are all now mothers.
