Noel reveals Top 10

(Wednesday September 03, 2008 01:16 PM)

Noel Gallagher has announced his Top 10 bands of all-time, with The Beatles topping the list.

The Oasis leader revealed the acts he believes to be the most significant in rock history in a posting online.

Writing after a show on the band's comeback tour of America, the band's songwriter lauded The Fab Four, The Rolling Stones and The Who.

Outside the top three, there was no room for The Stone Roses, The Smiths or Led Zeppelin, as Noel explained.

"This means the Top 10 bands of all time. No solo artists allowed. No female artists allowed. No collectives allowed (Public Enemy etc.).

"This is the 1,000th time we've been here with this. It never gets any less interesting for me. For the record, THE DEFINITIVE Top 10 is this…", he commented.

His Top 10 is as follows:

01 The Beatles
02 The Rolling Stones
03 The Who
04 Sex Pistols
05 The Kinks
06 The La's
07 Pink Floyd
08 The Bee Gees
09 The Specials
10 (Peter Green's) Fleetwood Mac
