Atomic Kitten pop stars Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton have called on Britons to ask a friend to help check their skin for signs of cancer.
The singers teamed up with Boots to launch its "mole mates" campaign after the high street chemist found that almost half (45%) of people found it difficult to check their moles properly when they were in hard-to-reach places.
The study also found that 13% said they did not check their skin for warning signs of melanoma because they had too many moles to look at.
Melanoma is the most dangerous form of skin cancer and the number of new cases in the UK has doubled in the last 20 years. But if detected early, it can be treated.
